The Robertson Slow takes place from the 7th to the 10th of August 2009 in the beautiful Robertson Wine Valley. This lifestyle festival is perfect for the wine & food lover who prefers the slower pace in life.

Enjoy traditional family-hosted dinners savouring country-fare such as Waterblommetjie bredie, Karoo venison and Tripe Stew. Meet our winemakers for 1-on-1 tasting opportunities and take time to prune a vineyard. Learn to make your own salami, bake your own vetkoek or take on the time-honoured art of quilting!

Other activities include a regional food market, hiking, tractor rides and lazy boat trips. Take the back roads and savour old-fashioned hospitality … slowly. Tickets are limited and need to be booked before 1 August 2009. For more information visit www.robertsonslow.com or contact the Robertson Wine Valley on 023 - 626 3167.
This Christmas, you can contribute to South Africa's 2010 effort by purchasing Fundi wine as a gift. And the recipient will enjoy a fabulous red wine. What is the link to 2010?

100% of the proceeds of every bottle sold will go to training wine stewards so that when visitors come to our country they will be served our wines by enthusiastic and knowledgeable waiters. The entire South African wine industry supports Fundi and many companies, such as cork and glass manufacturers contributed.

The wine was chosen by the prestigious Cape Wine Makers Guild. The wine industry is aiming to train 2010 wine stewards by the start of the World Cup. Half of the learners will be from the hotel and restaurant industry and the other half will be currently unemployed.

The training course offers the learners an opportunity to grow in confidence and improve their skills. Each bottle has an attractive collectable beaded glass marker, which was another wine industry job creation effort. This is a great corporate gift for clients, for international guests, and for those wine friends who seems to have all the wine they desire - Fundi is unique and the gift lasts long after the drinking pleasure.

Fundi is available at Makro, Cybercellar.co.za, La Cotte Wine Shop in Franschhoek and an increasing number of stores and restaurants in South Africa, at around R120 per bottle. So say cheers to this legacy of hope.
