Let's cook in Umbria offers unique package itineraries for groups from 2 up to 10 persons in Central Italy.
Our cooking holidays include accomodation in the apartments of the farmhouse "la volpe e l'uva" (Perugia), cooking classes and visits to well-known cities in Umbria and Tuscany such as Perugia, Assisi, Gubbio, Todi, Orvieto, Spoleto, Norcia, Siena, Cortona, Arezzo, e Montalcino but also to many less frequented towns and villages off the usual tourist itinerary.
The programs include half-day trips and wine tour to taste extra virgin olive oils, truffle, pecorino cheese, Chocolate, Umbrian and Tuscan wines and to visit the some artistic cities in Umbria and Tuscany. For all the tours we will reserve for you minivan and driver.
In each packages there will be time for a culinary experience with wonderful cookery lessons in the farm!
Our cooking classes begin at approximately 10.00 a.m. and are generally about 3/4 hours long and include the preparation of a multi-course meal, which you enjoy with wine at the end of the lesson. The Umbrian cuisine is incredibly rich and varied, famed for its heady olive oil; the wines are among the best produced in Italy. You will learn to cook authentic Italian dishes in an informal and friendly environment where you will learn the passion of the Italian kitchen and have fun doing it.
Recipes vary according to the season, utilizing only the freshest ingredients available and providing you with a deeply individual Italian experience.
Our goal is to provide you the traveler with a completely personalized vacation in central Italy. Tours and Holidays
Cook in Italy is a cooking schoollocated in Italy, in Tuscany
and in Torino, organizing cooking courses and single cooking
classes for people coming to Italy for a cooking holiday and
wanting to get in touch with the real Italian Cuisine and
with real Italian Chefs. The cooking courses are usually in
English, but French and Italian are spoken as well. Our tutors
have several years-long experience in teaching to guests coming
from foreign countries: understanding the skill level of our
guests is the most difficult part in our job. We study our
programs so that they are interesting and balanced, giving
the participants the opportunity to learn something that they
will be able to replicate at home after the end of their cooking
holiday. At Cook in Italy we organize from week-long courses
with up to 6 cooking classes to single cooking classes lasting
a half day.
Italian
Cookery Course
The Italian cooking school is run by Paola Baccetti in Casa
Ombuto and Franco Palandra in Torre del Tartufo and the Italian
Mediterranean cookery course is run by Laura Giusti. Our chefs
have been giving cooking lessons in our cooking school in
Tuscany for many years. The lessons are given in English and
for the Italian cooking class you will learn to make classic
Tuscan dishes and for the Italian Mediterranean cookery course
you learn to make dishes from four of the most popular cuisines
in Europe and North Africa. The classes are given in the cantinas
which have been especially equipped as professional kitchens
with enough working space of everyone to get rolling and chopping!
Casa Ombuto and Torre del Tartufo are both luxurious villas
with large heated pools and are both set on extensive estates
in the Tuscan hills with spectacular views of the surrounding
hills and valleys.
