There are two types of Chives, normal and garlic. Both of which are great for summer salads. Chives have a long cylindrical leaf with an onion flower at the end. This flower adds a lovely finishing colour to a salad.

 Recipe to try: Camembert Cheese Fold

INGREDIENTS

Camembert cheese
(4 – 5 inch diameter)
Mascarpone cheese
Cottage cheese
½ a cup of de-pitted olives
Green fig preserves
Walnuts

METHOD
  1. Slice the Camembert cheese into two halves down the width of the cheese
  2. Blend the Olives and Mascarpone cheese together (don’t over blend to enhance the texture of the paste)
  3. Spread the paste between the two halves of the Camembert cheese (it should look like an un-iced cake now)
  4. Spread the cottage cheese over the top of the Camembert cheese layers and sprinkle crumbed walnuts and green fig preserves over the top

Ideal for cocktail parties, cheese and
wines or just a fancy hors d'oeuvre for guests
